Matt from: http://www.hussieskunk.com The Extras - Ugly American (2002) - Last Vestige Music OK, so here's the story: It's 1982, Albany, New York, lead singer Mark is going to jail. A jail term of 1 to 3 for $12 of LSD (he was innocent). The trio called the Extras gets together the night before Mark leaves, and they record their debut album "Ugly American". The tapes would be put up in storage until a later time. Twenty years later the band gets back together, digs up the old master tapes, and finally releases their album. "Ugly American" is like stepping into a time warp of punk rock. This is the music that helped spawn everything. I dunno what Albany was like in '82, but it had to be a rocking town with the Extras running around. If you're looking for a refresher as to how it used to be, then the Extras have got what you want. There are 16 tracks of original punk rock material guaranteed to rock and shock you. Stand out tracks include "Standing On the Roof", "It's Not The End Of The World", "Erie Canal" and my personal favorite "Italian With An I". This is an amazing disc of classic punk rock that deserves attention from all the kids today. Especially you kids that don't know that there was great punk 20 years ago, as well as today. Get this disc!
